Frequently Asked Questions

Is APort really free?

Yes. Free is for individual developers, open-source maintainers, and early evaluation. You can create an OAP passport, use local guardrails, and run GitHub Repository Guard in report-only or enforcement mode without a sales conversation.

How do I subscribe to Team?

Sign in, select your organization, and choose Subscribe my team. An organization admin or billing admin can pay through Stripe Checkout. Access starts after APort receives the subscription confirmation. Enterprise rollout remains sales-led.

How do I manage payments or cancel?

Open your organization's Billing tab to update payment details, view invoices, or schedule cancellation through Stripe. Access continues until the current period ends when cancellation is scheduled. A failed payment can interrupt paid features; passports, audit history, and memberships are retained.

When do I need Team?

Use Team when guardrails need to be shared across an engineering team: organization-retained signed decision audit, team controls, org-owned GitHub evidence, hosted policy administration, and setup support for Claude Code or Cursor.

What is included in Enterprise?

Enterprise adds rollout support for IT and security teams: managed-device scripts, multi-region or private deployment options by agreement, custom policy packs, CIO/CISO reporting, and dedicated support terms by agreement.

What's the difference between local and API evaluation?

Local evaluation reads a passport file and runs offline. Hosted API evaluation uses the APort verifier for signed decisions, richer policy checks, hosted audit, suspend controls, and team/org visibility.

Does APort make us compliant?

No single product makes an organization compliant. APort provides passports, signed authorization decisions, and audit evidence that can support security reviews and compliance workflows as part of your broader control environment.

How does GitHub protection fit into pricing?

Free supports report-only checks and branch-protection-ready enforcement. Team adds org-owned audit, team controls, and setup support. Enterprise scales that control across repositories and managed developer environments.

Free includes GitHub enforcement. Team adds organization audit.

Create a passport, then move to Team when you need organization audit, shared team controls, and setup support.
